Guy in court over Hull city centre bank attacks


A Guy has appeared in court charged with a string of offences after disorder in Hull city centre.

Police said a guy with a "knife" started a fire in Santander Bank and poured petrol in close to Barclays Bank on King Edward Street on Tuesday.

Syrian national Ahmed Mohammed, 24, of Innsworth Garth, Hull, appeared before the city's magistrates earlier.

He is charged with attempted stealing, arson, possession of an offensive weapon, criminal damage and affray.

Mr Mohammed was remanded in custody until 12 October when he is due to appear at Hull Crown Court.
