ILKAY GUNDOGAN is reportedly prepared to commit his future to Manchester City amid attention from Barcelona.
Gundogan - who still has 2 years left on his existing Manchester City contract - has played in all four of his side’s Premier League games this season.
He was also a close to ever-present feature for Pep Guardiola last term, clocking up 48 appearances in all competitions as City completed a Premier League and EFL Cup double.
Barcelona meanwhile, made 4 signings over the summer, however there weren’t any marquee additions to conciliate the fans.
The Catalan giants are supposed to be one of a handful of European clubs keeping tabs on the former Borussia Dortmund midfielder.
But according to The Sun, Gundogan desires to stay put at the Etihad.
And he is also after a latest deal with improved terms.
A source close to the paper said: “Ilkay is pleased here and the club want to stay him.
"There is interest in him but it is probable he will stay.
“He loves playing under Pep, but who wouldn't? He also enjoys living in Manchester and the city and club as a whole.
“There's still a couple of years left on his agreement but he has been great since amalgamation and it won't be long until it's all sorted we hope.”
Barca have also been keeping tabs on Manchester United star Paul Pogba.
With relations becoming increasingly strained between Pogba and Jose Mourinho, there have been suggestions the Frenchman could leave Old Trafford.
Other claims have recommended that Juventus are also exploring a contract for Pogba.
Having pulled off a coup when they signed Cristiano Ronaldo from Juventus earlier this summer, Pogba and Real Madrid warden Marcelo are on their wishlist, although a dual deal might not be completed until June next year.
